Changelog
What's new in RetakeHQ, newest first.
2026-11-04
- Strats are found the way an IGL reads them. Strats you run, Their strats, their playbook and the anti-strat sheet now group rounds by formation: how many players stand where, moment by moment. Plant timing and exact utility no longer decide it. Each strat is named by its formation and timing ("A hit, plant at 0:50 left: 4 A, 1 Mid"), with the utility listed underneath.
- Where CTs play late. CT setups now say where the CTs stand with 0:45 left when the bomb isn't down yet.
- Pro strats on the Strats page. For each map, the T executes and CT setups pro teams ran at least 5 times over 2+ matches, with won X of Y. Each opens on its own strat page.
- Strats that work. The Strats page now leads with your team's strats on the map, T and CT, most rounds won first.
- A shorter practice config. "Practice it" on a strat page now lists only the grenades the team throws in at least half its rounds, with how often each is thrown.
- Lessons fit where the killer was. "Entry with no flash" and "died with utility unused" no longer fire when the player was shot from the side or behind, where a flash or a grenade couldn't have helped. Pro rates for both are re-measured on 630 pro matches; open reports rebuild once.

- Map control. Coach Review's More details now says when a team could walk to a part of the map first, 25 s into the round, much more or less often than pros' teams do, with the rounds to watch.
- Hard and easy duels. Two new columns in the aim & utility table: gunfights a player had under a 35% chance to win and won, and ones over 65% they lost, from where both stood, their crosshairs, health, guns and flashes.
- Where pros go next. Ask the coach where pros go from a spot, e.g. "where do Ts at Top Mid on Mirage go 20 seconds in?", and it answers from every pro round with examples.
- Rounds by situation links its rounds. A green or red mark there now lists the rounds behind it.
- Molly value. Next to Flash value in the match page's aim & utility table: the kills on enemies a player's fire had just hurt, and how much win chance those kills were worth.
- Fixed: money in overtime. The first overtime round now shows the $10,000 everyone starts with, not each player's money from before. Pro buy rates by money are re-measured with it.
- "Didn't trade" counts the walk. The lesson now measures how far your nearest teammate had to walk to you, round walls and up ladders, so someone behind a wall no longer counts as close enough to trade. Pro rates for every lesson are re-measured the same way; open reports rebuild once.
- Space control in the 2D Replay. Press G (or the new map button) to shade each part of the map by the side that can walk there first.
2026-11-02
- Fixed: deaths and money in match stats. Players switching teams during freeze time were counted as deaths, and money after the buy was sometimes wrong. Both are fixed, and open reports rebuild with the right numbers.
- What pros buy at each money level. The Economy page now shows, for each money band, how often pros eco, force or full buy and how often each wins. A lost force on Coach Review says how often pros win the forces they buy at that money.
- Flash value. The match page's aim & utility table shows the kills each player's flashes set up and how much win chance those kills were worth.
- Crosshair placement. Also in that table: how far each player's crosshair was off the enemy just before each fight (lower is better), with the pros' number on hover.
- New lesson: caught looking away. When a player is shot while their view was turned more than 90° from the enemy, and they never fired back, Coach Review now says so and what to check before turning your back to that angle. Pro rates for it are measured on 630 pro matches.
- Anti-strat sheet. On the Opponent page, a team's playbook on a map now opens as one printable page: how to beat them, their strats with won-X-of-Y, and their reads. Print it, save it as a PDF, or copy it for Discord.

- More in the 2D Replay. Armour read straight from the match, tags for who is walking, crouched or scoped, a ring when a player makes a sound, pings, a mark on the bomb carrier, and with vision on (V) a line from each player to the enemies he can see. New matches show it now; older ones follow.
- Money read from the match itself. The economy timeline uses each player's exact starting money and spend, which fixes pistol rounds that showed $0 before the buy.
- Armour in the 2D Replay. Each player's armour shows beside their name, with a filled shield when they have a helmet, and it drops as they take hits.
- Team logos appear on their own. A team's logo now shows as soon as its match is added, without waiting for an update.
- Comparisons with pros now use 561 pro matches, 126 more than before, including this autumn's events. Every "vs pros" number, lesson rate and pro baseline in your reviews is re-measured; open reports rebuild with the new numbers.

A new 2D Replay. One screen with both teams beside a bigger map: each player's money, health and weapons. Switch between a series' maps from the top bar. After the plant the bomb timer counts down in red, a player flashes red when he's hit, and a ring shows a defuse in progress.
Pro matches in the Library, one row per match. Both teams with their logos, the series score, each map with its score, the date, the tournament with its logo, and a link to the match on HLTV.
Their playbook on the Opponent page. For each map: their strats with how often each won, what their T defaults turn into, the grenade that gives a hit away (only when it's not luck), when they plant, who anchors which site, their setups on ecos and full buys, what they run after a timeout or two lost rounds, and where they stand after the plant. Each line is a count of what they did, with links to the rounds.
New: the strats you run. Coach Review finds the rounds your team played the same way across your matches on the map (same site, timing, grenades and setup) and shows each with how often it won, split by buy. Pistol rounds get their own section, on both sides. One click overlays those rounds or saves the strat to your Strat board. The same works on the other team in the match.
Every strat has its own page. Overlay now plays all of a strat's rounds together like the 2D replay, only that team: each player named in his own colour, every grenade drawn from the thrower to where it lands. Beside it, who does what: each player's role, where he stands, which grenades he throws from where and when (with the setpos to copy), and where he plays after the plant. Plus the rounds it lost and what beat it, and the whole strat as a practice config.
Stacked rounds play like the 2D replay. Every player faces where they look, and each round's flashes, HEs, smokes, mollies, shots and kills (killer to victim) show as they happen, all the rounds at once.
Lessons now say when it's more than one bad round. When a mistake is clearly more common than among pros ("Pros on Mirage: about 1 in 50 lost CT rounds; Seph: 4 of 12 lost"), or keeps coming back across your team matches on the map ("the same in 4 of the last 5 Mirage matches on CT"), the lesson says so. Both lines only show when the numbers aren't likely to be luck, and pugs don't count.
Try this fix on any lesson. One click on a player's card counts that mistake in their next matches on the map, and from the third match it says whether it's working.
Four blog posts are up: reviewing a demo as a team, anti-stratting your ESEA opponent, where pros plant on Mirage, and how the new lessons work.
Every lost round now ends with what to change. Coach Review names the player, what his job was, the moment he left it and what it gave away, then "Next round: ..." (12 kinds of mistake, from leaving your site as anchor to dying with utility unused).
The top 3 lessons lead Things to work on, with a mistake made more than once ranked higher, and each player sees his own on his card. Not right for a player? Mark it wrong and it stops showing for him.

- New: this changelog, and a blog with guides for team reviews and anti-stratting, plus numbers from pro matches (first posts coming soon).
- Coach Review opens on how you lost rounds. Every lost round once, with its buy, the opening kill, the kill that cost most and how it ended, plus a button to watch it in 2D from just before it turned.
- The Library opens on your latest match: the score, the rounds you lost and why, one click to Coach Review or the replay.
- A cleaner look: black-and-white maps in every 2D view, one highlighted card per page, long sections folded, and a "Scout this team" button on the other team.
- The replay timeline now starts when freeze time ends and lines up with the playhead.
