Terms of Service
Last updated: October 27, 2026
These terms cover your use of RetakeHQ: the web app, the desktop app and this website. By creating an account, buying a subscription or using RetakeHQ, you agree to them. "RetakeHQ", "we" and "us" mean the business that runs RetakeHQ; contact us at hello@retakehq.com.
1. Who can use RetakeHQ
You must be at least 13 years old. To buy a subscription you must be old enough to enter a binding contract where you live, or have a parent or guardian's permission.
2. Your account and team
- You sign in with your Steam account. Keep it secure; you're responsible for what happens under your RetakeHQ account.
- Every account belongs to a team. The team owner chooses the plan, invites members up to the plan's seat limit, and can remove members. Everyone on a team can see the team's uploads, notes and comments.
- One account per person. Don't share your account or sign-in, or use RetakeHQ for more people or teams than your plan covers.
3. Plans
- Free: curated pro matches, a limited number of your own uploads (currently one every 24 hours), kept for 7 days, and previews of paid features on the showcase matches.
- Paid plans (Player and Team; Org is not on sale yet): more uploads (subject to fair use, section 7), your matches kept while you subscribe, the features and number of seats listed on the pricing page, the AI match chat, and the desktop app once it is released.
- We may change what each plan includes. If a change takes away something you pay for, we'll tell you at least 14 days before and you can cancel before it applies.
4. Subscriptions and billing
- Paid plans are sold through Stripe, which acts as the merchant of record: Stripe sells you the subscription, takes the payment, and adds any sales tax or VAT your location requires at checkout, before you pay. Stripe's checkout terms also apply to the purchase. We provide the service.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each month (or year, if you chose yearly) until you cancel. Cancel any time from your account page ("Manage subscription"); you keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for.
- If a payment fails, Stripe retries it for a few days and your plan keeps working meanwhile. If it still can't be paid, the subscription ends.
- We may change prices. We'll email you at least 14 days before a new price applies to your subscription, and you can cancel before then.
- Refunds: you can get a full refund within 14 days of any payment, no questions asked. See the Refund Policy. After 14 days, payments aren't refunded, except where the law requires otherwise; you can cancel any time to stop future charges.
5. When a subscription ends
- Web app: your team moves to the free plan. Matches uploaded while you subscribed stay viewable (read-only) for 90 days; after that the free plan's storage rules apply to them. Subscribe again within those 90 days and everything is back as it was.
- Desktop app: it needs an active subscription and locks at the end of your paid period. Everything it stored stays on your computer and stays yours; subscribe again and it unlocks with all of it intact.
6. The desktop app
The desktop app isn't released yet; this section applies once it is. While you have an active paid subscription, we give you a personal, non-transferable license to install and use the desktop app for your team, on the number of computers your plan allows. The app signs in to your RetakeHQ account to check your subscription, and keeps working offline for up to 7 days between checks. You may not share your account to unlock the app for others, try to get around the subscription check, or copy, modify, decompile or reverse engineer the app, except where the law expressly allows it.
7. Fair use
Paid uploads are "unlimited" for real teams reviewing their own and their opponents' matches. To keep the service fast for everyone, there's a daily upload cap per team that normal use doesn't reach. The AI match chat comes with a monthly allowance per team, measured by what the AI actually costs us; the app shows how much is left, and if a team uses it all, AI pauses until the next month while everything else keeps working. Don't use RetakeHQ in ways that put unusual load on it: automated bulk uploads, scraping, or reselling access. We may slow down or pause accounts that do.
8. Your uploads and content
- Only upload demos you have the right to use, and follow the rules of the platforms you get them from (for example, FACEIT's terms).
- Your demos, notes and comments stay yours. You give us permission to store, copy and analyze them as needed to run RetakeHQ for your team, and, unless your team turns on private mode, to keep anonymized copies of the match data parsed from them (no names, IDs, notes or chats) to train and improve RetakeHQ's models, as described in the Privacy Policy. We don't publish your uploads, sell them, or share them with other teams.
- Don't put anything unlawful, abusive or someone else's private information in notes or comments.
- Uploads and their analysis are deleted on the schedule in the Privacy Policy. Keep your own copies of demo files that matter to you.
9. Analysis and AI are guidance, not a guarantee
Win probabilities, scouting reports, tips, stats and AI-written answers are estimates based on the demos available to RetakeHQ. They can be incomplete or wrong, and AI-written text in particular can misstate things; the replay shows what actually happened. Use them as one input to your own judgment; we don't promise any result in your matches.
10. Fair play
RetakeHQ is for reviewing matches that have already been played. Don't use it in any way that breaks the rules of a game, league, tournament or platform, including rules against outside tools during a live match.
11. Third parties
RetakeHQ is an independent product, not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Valve Corporation or FACEIT. Counter-Strike and CS2 are trademarks of Valve Corporation; Steam is a trademark of Valve; FACEIT is a trademark of its owner. Features that depend on other services (Steam sign-in, FACEIT import, the AI match chat) may change or stop working if those services do.
12. Changes and availability
We keep improving RetakeHQ, so features change, and occasionally the service is down for maintenance. If we ever shut RetakeHQ down, we'll give subscribers at least 30 days' notice, stop billing, and let you download your team's notes before we delete anything.
13. Ending your access
You can stop using RetakeHQ, cancel, or delete your account (on your account page) at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. If we close a paid account without a good reason, we'll refund the unused part of your current billing period.
14. Disclaimer
RetakeHQ is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we don't promise RetakeHQ will be error-free, uninterrupted or that data will never be lost.
15. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or opportunities. Our total liability for any claim relating to RetakeHQ is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of West Virginia, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you're a consumer, you keep any protections the laws of your home country give you that can't be waived by contract.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll tell signed-in users and subscribers before they take effect. If you keep using RetakeHQ after that, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can cancel.
